TÜSİAD to represent Turkey at B-20 body

The 15 largest national business organizations from the G-20 countries recently formed and launched the B-20 Coalition in order to bring the voice of the business world to the G-20. Turkish Industrialists’ and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD), the Turkish business world will be represented by TÜSİAD at the B-20 Coalition. TÜSİAD chair Ümit Boyner said in a statement yesterday that she attached importance to private sector institutions, which have gathered since 2009 in parallel with G-20 summits, establishing the B-20 Coalition.

The coalition aims to support national, regional and international policies that will create business and support global development. The member business organizations represent more than 6.5 million businesses across the G-20 member countries. It will track how much the recommendations from the business world are considered at the yearly G-20 summits. The coalition will gather in Moscow Dec. 12 for a preparatory meeting for the next G-20 summit, set to be held in St. Petersburg on Sept. 5 and 6, 2013.
Other members of the B-20 Coalition are: AIG (Australia), BDI (Germany), BUSA (South Africa), Businesseurope (Europe), Canadian Chamber of Commerce (Canada), CEOE (Spain), CII (India), CNI (Brazil), Confindustria (Italy), FKI (South Korea), MEDEF (France), RSPP (Russia), UIA (Argentina) and U.S. Chamber of Commerce (the U.S.).
