Turkish films to be shown at Budapest

The Film Producers Professional Association (FİYAB) will present the Turkish cinema and television sector at the NATPE Budapest fair between June 26 and 28.

Project coordinator Ayşe Sönmez said they had reached success at the fairs they had entered in recent years.

Noting that the television and cinema sector had developed in recent years, Sönmez said the interest in Turkish productions had increased abroad with the developments seen in Turkish cinema and television shows.

“Last year NATPE became the best global multiplatform video content market based the in U.S. NATPE receives more than 200 attendees from 40 countries and hosts 710 international companies,” she said.

Noting that they would work to put Turkey in the international scene, Sönmez said, “We will have the chance to present our sector in Turkey to the international arena.”

Sönmez said the fair would take place between June 26 and 28 and added that the producers have already been informed about the fair.

The fair will host Turkish films such as “Gişe Memuru” (Toll Booth), directed by Tolga Karaçelik; “New York’ta Beş Minare” (5 Minarets in New York), directed by Mahsun Kırmızıgül; “Memleket Meselesi” (A Matter of Country), by İsa Yıldız and Murat Onbul; “Nar” (Pomegranate); “Labirent” (Labyrinth); “Kaybedenler Kulübü” (Losers Club); “Mavi Pansiyon” (Blue Pension); and “Eylül” (September).
