Turkish films shown on Qatari screen

Doha, the capital city of Qatar,is hosting films from Turkey. The second Turkish Film Festival will be held until June 26 by the Project Development Center (PROGEM) with aid from the Turkish Ministry of Arts and Culture. The festival started yesterday with a gala in the biggest shopping mall in the city Villaggio.

The festival opened with a movie by Mahsun Kırmızıgül, “New York’ta Beş Minare” (Five Minarets in New York) and will continue with the most watched recent movies of Turkey.

The Turkish ambassador to Doha and many ambassadors and executive editors of the main newspapers are expected to be present at the gala cocktail. Kırmızıgül, director Orçun Benli and Turkish actress Deniz Uğur will participate in the festival.
