Turkish Airlines to buy maintenance firm MNG

Turkish Airlines (THY) announced yesterday that it has agreed to purchase MNG Technic, which provides maintenance services at Istanbul’s Atatürk Airport.In a filing to the Istanbul Stock Exchange, THY said the agreement to transfer the shares would be signed upon the Competition Board’s approval. THY already owns a maintenance firm, Turkish Technic, which is the leading aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO) services company in the region. MNG Technic currently has the capacity to serve 16 narrow-body, or four wide-body and eight-narrow body aircraft simultaneously.
