Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu will head the “B-20 Turkey Steering Board,” which has been formed to guide and coordinate preparations for the summit.

Turkey’s top business representative, Turkey’s Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges Chairman Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu, has been named the leader of the businessmen’s board that will deal with the preparations of the Business 20 (B-20) summit to be held in Turkey in 2015.

As part of its G-20 Presidency, Turkey will also host the B-20 Summit in 2015 whereby it will have the opportunity to lead the activities of business leaders and to promote its cultural and historical heritage, a statement from the Treasury said on July 16.

Hisarcıklıoğlu will head the “B-20 Turkey Steering Board,” which has been formed to guide and coordinate preparations for the summit that brings businesspeople together to work with the government on the G-20 policy agenda for 2015.

The B-20 is a key business advisory body that produces policy recommendations for the G-20. It includes business leaders from all G-20 countries.

The Turkish government will work closely with the business community throughout 2014, as Turkey formulates an agenda that will deliver on the G-20’s main goal of promoting economic prosperity and jobs. First convened during the Canadian G-20 Presidency in 2010, it has continued to play an important role.

Hosting the G-20 in 2015 will give Turkey a valuable opportunity to influence policy in the world’s major economies and contribute to a growing and resilient global economy, the Turkish Treasury said.

Turkish Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (TÜSİAD) Chairman Haluk Dinçer, Independent Industrialists and Businessmen’s Association (MÜSİAD) Chairman Nail Olpak, Turkish Exporters’ Assembly (TİM) Chairman Mehmet Büyükekşi, Turkish Confederation of Employers’ Unions (TİSK) and Foreign Economic Relations Board (DEİK) Chairman Tuncay Özilhan and Istanbul Chamber of Industry (İSO) Erdal Bahçıvan will also work as the members of the committee.
