Turkey’s air traffic rises in March

The number of passengers taking domestic flights in Turkey grew 17.7 percent in March compared to the same month a year ago, while international flights grew 5.7 percent, the General Directorate of the State Airports Authority has announced.

The total number of domestic passengers for the month was  over 6.5, whereas the number of international passengers reached 4,449,027, the authority said.

The rise marked in the domestic flights has become 12.6 percent during the month, reaching over 57,000. Meanwhile, the number of international flights grew 9.4 percent to more than 36,000.

Turkish airports served 117,526 planes in March including 23, 112 over-flights.

During the same month, the amount of air cargo increased 13.4 percent to more than 200,000 tons.
