Thermal plant gets $2.24 billion offer

A tender for the sell out of a 600 megawatt (MW) state-owned thermal power plant in the inner Aegean province of Kütahya closed on Dec. 28 highest offer at $2.248 billion.

Turkey’s Çelikler Taahhüt İnşaat ve Sanayi Aş placed the highest offer for Seyitömer Thermal Power Plant to sideline other 15 bidders, The Seyitomer plant, made up of four units with an installed capacity of 600 MW, has an annual production capacity of 4 billion kWh.

Çelikler chairman Tahir Çelik said after the tender that the price was not “that much high.”
“There is an important reserve here, This price is normal,” he said.
