The founder and manager of Türkiye’s popular girl band Manifest, Tolga Akış, was detained yesterday over a range of accusations.
The Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office announced that an investigation has been launched against Akış on charges of money laundering, drug use and obscenity.
While Manifest, a newly formed six-member group, has recently drawn significant attention with its hit songs and live performances, the members themselves faced legal trouble.
In December 2025, the court sentenced each of the six members to three months and 22 days in prison for “obscene acts” and “public indecency,” though the announcement of the verdict was deferred.
