Pera Museum celebrates Halloween

Pera Film is set to salute all things frightful about the Halloween season by screening a series of Dutch horror films throughout the month of October. The event will screen “De Lift” (The Elevator), which was released in 1983 and distributed worldwide by Warner Brothers, this Wednesday. The Dutch press has coined the growth of new horror films coming out of the Netherlands as “Nederhorror.” Since the early 2000s, there has been an increase in the number of horror films produced in the country with a number of horror film festivals organized in recent years. In collaboration with the Dutch Film Institute EYE, Pera Film will present a special selection of contemporary Dutch horror films.
