Opus Music Fest brings classic tunes

The Opus Amadeus Chamber Music Festival kicks off today and will continue until March 29.
The festival will host famous local and foreign musicians and will present variations from baroque, classical, romantic and contemporary music.

The festival offers concerts of chamber music from the baroque to the contemporary era and will start with a piano recital by Hungarian pianist Marta Gulyas and Turkish pianist Birsen Ulucan.

This year’s event will feature performances of works by Corelli, Stravinsky, Bach, Liszt, Kurtag, Mozart, Schubert, Gismonti, Schumann, Brahms, Shostakovich, Bach-Busoni, Debussy, Haydn, Mimaroğlu, Vivaldi, Rihm, Beethoven and Rachmaninoff.

The third concert at Opus Amadeus is entitled “Oda Müziğinin Doruklarında” (On the Summits of Chamber Music). The concert will host violinist Özcan Ulucan, cellist Ozan Tunca and pianist Özgür Aydın, who are set to perform Haydn’s “Trio in C Major,” Shostakovich’s “Trio in E Minor,” Wolfgang Rihm’s “Fremde Szenen” and Brahms’s “Trio in C Major.”Opus Amadeus will host many musicians from both Turkey and countries abroad with the aim of promoting classical music and chamber music in Turkey.
