Istanbul’s Ukrainian consul general summoned back

ISTANBUL
Istanbul’s Consul General of Ukraine Bohdan Yaremenko was told to leave his post following his critical remarks on the activities of the Ukrainian police during the protests in the country, according to the Turkish version of the Voice of Russia.

The Voice of Russia claimed the consul general was pulled back after he slammed the Ukraine police force for the treatment of protesters in the country, who have been leading an uprising ever since Ukraine turned down a trade deal with the European Union.

The report was based on a series of Facebook posts, which were reportedly posted by the former consul general himself and included a final letter from the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry that called for Yaremenko to return to Ukraine by Dec. 7.

The Ukrainian Foreign Ministry is yet to confirm the incident.
