Internship starts for Turkish Americans

The Turkish Coalition of America (TCA) has started to accept applications for its 2013 Washington Summer Internship Program, as it announced on Feb. 13.

“Since its inception in 2007, 98 Turkish Americans have been placed in internships with prestigious Congressional offices and non-profit organizations,” it said.
 
This program provides an opportunity for Turkish American students to live and work in Washington D.C., learn about the American political process, and explore career opportunities in public affairs, according to TCA.

The internship aims to enhance Turkish American participation in political life and to cultivate the future generation of Turkish American leaders, the program lasts up to 10 weeks between June-August 2013. 

A monthly stipend provided

Interns will be provided an opportunity to work in congressional offices and select Turkish American non-governmental organizations. Also, TCA will provide a monthly stipend of the interns.

Currently enrolled undergraduate and graduate students, in addition to recent graduates, are eligible to apply for this program.
