The Golden Orange Film Festival will criticize the system while making people laugh under the them Humor.

The 49th Golden Orange Film Festival will be broadcast live on social media. The events of the festival will be broadcast live on the festival’s Twitter account, and the festival committee is cooperating with a media agency to share the all events and activities via social media.

The live Twitter broadcasting project was announced at a press conference held in Istanbul’s Pera Palas Hotel. The festival opening, the red carpet, ceremonies and the closing of the festival will be broadcast live via Twitter. The film discussions and the award ceremonies will be also on Twitter live.

Other social networks such as Facebook, video site Vimeo and website Google will be broadcasting the Golden Orange Festival with the account name @49AltinPortakal. Currently the Golden Orange Festival has 600 followers on Twitter.

This year’s Golden Orange Film Festival, which will start Oct. 12, aims to criticize the system while making people laugh, under the theme “Humor, Opposition and Democracy.” This central theme will be reflected in panels, seminars, conferences and workshops. The festival will focus on Turkish and world cinema from the 1990s. Audiences will see masterpieces that made their mark on the cinematic scene in the 1990s within the theme of social criticism with a humorous approach.

World-famous Hungarian director Istvan Szabo will be the International Competition jury president and will also attend a film workshop during the festival. The festival’s street performances will also be designed to reflect the voice of the “other.”
