Flag carrier opens new cargo center

Turkish Airlines has opened a new cargo center at Frankfurt Airport.

The center will provide cargo services for six Turkish Airlines’ cargo planes and 28 passenger planes for 200 target destinations in Germany, France, England, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Portugal, Switzerland and Denmark.

Turkish Airlines Central and South European Cargo Regional Head Mehmet Kızılkaya said that the Cargo City in Frankfurt would be built on 15,000 square meters and would have the best technology and security systems in place.

“Germany is one of our most important markets. We want to achieve 22 percent growth per year here,” said Kızılkaya.

Turkish Cargo President Ali Türk, who was also on hand for the opening, said that Turkish Airlines had jumped from 41st place to 26th place in one year.
