Elgiz Museum of Contemporary Art, also known as the Proje4L Museum, is celebrating its 10th year with a commemorative book

The book, edited by curator Dr. Necmi Sönmez, is a large collection showing the works and artists featured in the museum. It also gives a brief description of the contemporary Turkish and international art scene. The Elgiz Collection consists of works by influential Turkish and international artists such as Ömer Uluç, Fahrelnissa Zeid, Abdurrahman Öztoprak, Tracey Emin, Jan Fabre, Barbara Kruger, Cindy Sherman, Andy Warhol, Julian Schnabel, Sol LeWitt, Peter Halley, Paul McCarthy, Gilbert and George, Robert Rauschenberg and Doug Aitken.

The eclectic content of the collection allows the viewer to experience a comprehensive journey through the major contemporary art movements of the last two decades while also promoting the globalization of Turkish art.

With the inclusion of new works by young artists, the Elgiz Collection hopes to maintain its dynamism and prevalence. Elgiz is also holding the “Elgiz 10 Istanbul” exhibition, which attempts to reinterpret the Elgiz Collection. The show includes artists such as Gerhard Richter, Louis Bourgeois, Andy Warhol, Robert Rauschenberg, Sol LeWitt, Tracy Emin, Gilbert and George, along with Ömer Uluç.
