The opening of the Doğan Hızlan Library, which has been established by the metropolitan municipality in the southern province of Antalya, will open Feb. 17 at a ceremony to be attended by daily Hürriyet media consultant and writer Doğan Hızlan.

The library was declared one of the most important cultural structures in the city by Mayor Mustafa Akaydın.

The library is located in the Atatürk Culture Park and will open within the scope of the TÜYAP Antalya Book Fair. Hızlan has donated nearly 20,000 books to the library.

The library, which is still receiving books, will be one of the largest in Antalya with a capacity of 60,000 books, meeting an important need of the city. Having a capacity of 110 people, the library building is comprised of two main sections including social and physical sciences research and literary research.
