Australia leaves key rate at 3 pct

Governor Glenn Stevens left the overnight cash rate target at 3 percent in Sydney yesterday after cutting it by a quarter point last month. Stevens and his board have reduced the benchmark rate by a record 4.25 percentage points since early September as companies fire workers to offset waning demand for travel and raw materials.
