An Agence France-Press photographer who was accused of taking "ugly" photos of France's far-right National Front (FN) leader Marine le Pen was prevented from attending her press conference in the northern province of Nanterre on Dec. 14, Le Point.fr has reported.

"AFP has been selling absurd and totally ugly photos of Marine Le Pen to insult her. It is not a girly, aesthetic concern that we're talking about here. We have an impression that it is deliberate," the politician’s chief of staff, Charlotte Soula, told reporters.

The AFP board refused all accusations against their photographer and expressed their full support for him. They have also underlined that all journalists working for the agency do so impartially.
