Yeşilnils at Nardis Jazz Club
Ayşegül and Nezih Yeşilnil will serenade Nardis Jazz Club in Istanbul tonight at 9:30. The 1995 release by the Yeşilnil couple, “Rüzgara Şarkılar Söyle” (Sing Songs to the Wind), features a great backup band. All the melodies were written by Nezih Yeşilnil and all the lyrics were written by Ayşegül Yeşilnil, who also co-wrote some of the music. The album, which still receives radio play, was well received by the media and is still considered one of the finest albums of Turkish jazz with vocals. Some of the many important musicians who have collaborated with the couple are: Neşet Ruacan, Önder Focan, Bülent Ortaçgil, Erkan Oğur, Şenova Ülker, Levent Altındağ, Levent Çoker, Hakan Beşer, Jak and Janet Esim and Okan Şamil.
