The reasoning behind the name is because the water only ever runs after sunset, (‘Güngörmez’ means ‘does not see the light of day’) causing the locals to see it as sacred. However the logic behind it is simple; the glacier freezes overnight and the lack of sunlight it receives causes the water to flow only towards the evening. One of the lakes formed in this process is warm and the steam going out from certain points indicate that the mountain is still active. First go to this warm lake which is relatively smaller in comparison to the others in the area. If you look closely, you can also see the obsidian rocks in the rocks.
