Demirören News Agency reported on Sept. 12 that the woman, identified as 24-year-old Dilara A., wanted to withdraw 1,500 Turkish Liras from an ATM.
Her card became stuck in the ATM after it malfunctioned and the woman angrily kicked the machine.
She then assaulted security personnel at an adjacent post office, spat around and cursed at passersby.
A police team arrived and spent half an hour to calm the woman, but they were ultimately forced to restrain her with handcuffs as she continued to swear.
“She entered the post office and smashed everything. She also brandished a knife and injured her friend after her card was stuck in the ATM,” a witness said.
Although the employees of the post office filed a criminal complaint, police released the woman after a brief detention.
