Safranbolu, also on the UNESCO World Heritage List since 1994, is a small Ottoman-era town, displaying the culture, architecture and social life of the empire.
The town has generally three-story traditional townhouses and is still home to historic fountains, bridges, traditional Turkish baths and mosques from the era.
Safranbolu has some 1,125 protected assets out of some 50,000 in general from across Turkey.
