Van cats become the symbol of the eastern Van province with their white, silky fur and different eye colors.
The variety has been referred to as “the swimming cat” and has been observed swimming in Lake Van.
They are one the most important living cultural heritage of the city as they stand out with their close proximity, white and silky fur, lion gait, long and fluffy tail, different eye colors and water enthusiasm.
Van cats are relatively large, have a chalky white coat, sometimes with ruddy coloration on the head and hindquarters, and have blue or amber eyes or one eye of each color.
