Even though Valentine's Day is generally associated with red roses, orchids are becoming more popular in Turkey.
According to data provided by the Turkish Statistical Institute (TÜİK), 6 million pieces of orchids are sold annually in Turkey.
Some 2 million orchids out of this figure are being produced only for Valentine's Day in 2020, state-run Anadolu Agency reported on Jan. 26.
