Excavations in ancient city of Aizanoi to conclude in 2023
Excavation works that have been ongoing for the last nine years in the Aizanoi Ancient City are planned to conclude in 2023, Kütahya Governor Ali Çelik has said.
The iconic ancient city, located in the western province of Kütahya, is home to the Zeus Temple, one of the best-preserved ruins in Anatolia.
Dubbed as the second Ephesus Aizanoi, it was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Tentative List in 2012.
