Seven members of a salsa troupe have been trapped at Turkey’s Istanbul Atatürk Airport for 13 days.

The 12-person troupe arrived in the Mediterranean province of Antalya after making a deal with an agency in July to take stage at luxury hotels in Manavgat, Alanya and Side districts.

However, the tourism agency backed out of the contract at the end of the summer season, leaving the dancers broke.

Five members of the troupe managed to afford flight tickets to Colombia, Egypt and Spain last month.

But the others could only fly to Istanbul Istanbul Atatürk Airport with a hope to find help from fellow Colombians in the metropolis.

Families of the dancers and Colombian expats of Istanbul started raising money for five flight tickets to Bogota, which will cost almost 35,000 Turkish Liras or $6,580.
