Explosion in Istanbul injures one

One person was injured in an explosion in Istanbul's Unkapanı neighborhood today.

The blast happened at around 7:00 a.m. in the front yard of the Social Security Directorate office on Atatürk Boulevard.

Cleaning worker Sadık Mandal, 35, was sweeping the yard at the moment of the blast and sustained injuries on his leg and face. Mandal was taken to Cerrahpaşa Medical School emergency room.
