Kalan said she has been singing since she was a child.

The Netherlands will be represented by Turkish-Dutch singer Ayten Kalan at the Eurovision song contest, daily Vatan reported. The singer, known by the Dutch name Joan Franka, will perform a song titled “You and Me.”

Kalan said she has been singing since she was a child. Her father Ali Kalan, who died when she was 2 years old, came from Mersin, Turkey. “I have never been to Turkey because of financial problems,” she said. “However, I would like to visit my father’s country a lot.”

Kalan said she supports Can Bonomo in the Eurovision contest. She said, “This is something like a football match. I will be happy if Turkey wins.” Noting that she always listened to classic Turkish music since she was a child, Kalan said she listens to Bülent Ersoy songs that belonged to her father.
