Abdullah Kiğılı, the owner of Kiğılı stores, has invested $2 million for launching a new store in the Guangzhou province of China.

Turkish menswear brand Kiğılı has opened a store with a $2 million investment in the Guangzhou province of China.

Abdullah Kiğılı, the owner of Kiğılı stores, said the move was a joint investment with Guangzhou Weibo, a Turkish investor in China. “Firstly, we will open 12 flagship stores in 12 central Chinese provinces like Shanghai and Beijing. After completing it in 1.5 years, the rest of the plans will be easy,” said Guangzhou Weibo Chairman Selçuk Alperen, noting that it would not be difficult to open 1,000 stores in China.

However, Kiğılı said sale prices in China were two or three times Turkey’s prices. “Some 300 million of China’s 1.3 billion population is interested in luxury consumption. Our partner told us that the people want to buy high-priced products here. We have followed a different pricing policy because our prices in Turkey would be lower here,” he said.

With the openings in China, Kiğılı, one of the prominent brands in men’s clothing in Turkey, now has 18 stores abroad.
