Istanbul Film Fest workshops kick off at Akbank Art Center

ISTANBUL

Producer of ‘Our Grand Despair’ discusses the conditions surrounding productions.

The “Meetings On The Bridge” panels and workshops, part of the Istanbul Film Festival, will continue today and tomorrow at Akbank Sanat.

In today’s session, Franz Rodenkirchen, a popular script advisor for international markets, conductor of numerous workshops, and consultant for many festival films, will share tips on script development and evaluation. Mahmut Fazıl Coşkun, Zeynep Dadak, and Merve Kayan, directors and writers of the award-winning film projects “Yozgat Blues” and “Mavi Dalga” (Blue Wave), will talk about the advantages of working with a script advisor.

Michel Reilhac, executive director of Arte France Cinéma, director of film acquisitions for ARTE France, and transmedia analyst, will give a “not to be missed” presentation on the principles of transmedia and the point of view of television and Arte on transmedia.

Toni Oyry, project manager at Shankaboot, the world’s first Arabic-language web series and the winner of the International Digital Emmy Award 2011, will be sharing the experience of online platforms and applications, interactivity, audience outreach, distribution and marketing between 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. Tomorrow Isabelle Fauvel, founder of Initiative Films -- one of the first consulting agencies in Europe dealing with film development issues and all phases of production -- will be holding a workshop on project development and making a film pitch.

Meetings and panels on the topic of Turkish-Dutch co-production are also taking place within the scope of the Istanbul Film Festival, as a collaboration of Meetings on the Bridge and the Nederland Film Festival-Holland Film Meeting.
