Erdoğan tells ministers to take neighborhood heads to Alhambra, Jerusalem

ANKARA

President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan has called on Turkey's interior and tourism ministers to take neighborhood heads (muhtars) across the country on trips to Alhambra in Spain and Jerusalem.

“If you go to the Alhambra Palace – actually our interior minister can organize trips there for our village heads – you will see there is an inscription [written above one of the doors]: ‘There is no victor but God,’” Erdoğan said.

One of the watching neighborhood heads subsequently shouted out about Jerusalem, upon which the president said trips should also be organized there.

“We have handed over all plans to the interior minister and they can also organize a visit to Jerusalem with our culture minister. I hope a whole tour can take place,” Erdoğan said.
