The dead bodies of a young couple who had been camping on a beach were found on July 8 in the Marmara province of Kocaeli.

The couple, Melisa Kolpar and Ziya Yağcı, both 17 years old, had been camping near Cebeci Beach in the Kandıra district before the latter’s body was found hung from the beach’s lifeguard tower. Visitors of the beach spotted Yağcı’s body and informed the gendarmerie forces.

There were bruises on his body, apparently indicating he had been beaten, but his definitive cause of death has not been determined yet.

After finding Yağcı’s body on the lifeguard tower, the gendarmerie discovered a tent in which they found the dead body of his girlfriend, Kolpar, who also appeared to have been beaten before her death.

A multilateral investigation into the incident has been launched by the Kandıra Public Prosecutor’s Office.

In addition, it has been revealed Kolpar had been registered with a casting agency and received small roles in a few TV series, while Yağcı was allegedly registered with the same agency.

Meanwhile, postings shared by Kolpar on one of her social media accounts have also raised eyebrows.

“We missed you so much my darling. And above all, I still could not visit your grave. So, we decided to come to your side. We are almost there,” Kolpar said in a social media post, addressing a friend of hers who had died.
