UK envoy criticizes Scottish referee of Beşiktaş-Dinamo Kiev match

ANKARA
United Kingdom Ambassador to Turkey Richard Moore has criticized the Scottish referee of the Dec. 6 Champions League match between Dinamo Kiev and Beşiktaş, in which the latter was crushed 6-0.

Moore criticized Craig Thomson, a referee from the Scotland Football Federation, who sent off two Beşiktaş players and controversially awarded Dinamo Kiev a penalty during the game, in which Beşiktaş failed to qualify from the group stage.

“I don’t usually complain about referees but tonight… and a fellow citizen too!” Moore tweeted in Turkish.
