Two Turkish soldiers killed in Hakkari

Two soldiers were killed in an attack by the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in the southeastern Turkish province of Hakkari, the military also stated on Feb. 21.

In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said the militants detonated a planted explosive device during a counter-terror operation in the Şemdinli district of Hakkari.

One soldier was also wounded in the incident.

The Turkish Armed Forces will “continue its fight against all terror organizations until the last terrorist is killed,” vowed the statement, which also conveyed condolences to the families of the killed soldiers.
