Two soldiers killed in Turkey’s Diyarbakır

Two Turkish soldiers have been killed in operations against outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) militants in the Lice district of the southeastern province of Diyarbakır, security sources said March 19, state-run Anadolu Agency has reported.      

The two soldiers, who were seriously wounded during ongoing operations, succumbed to their injuries at the Selahattin Eyyübi State Hospital in Diyarbakır, according to sources who spoke on condition of anonymity.      

Six PKK militants were killed in the operations, the sources added.      

Security forces have been conducting broad operations against the PKK in Diyarbakir’s Lice, Kulp and Hani districts since March 5.
