Two civilians have been killed while another two have been wounded after a house was raked with bullets in the southeastern province of Mardin’s Dargeçit district amid a continuing curfew in the area.

The house was attacked by members of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers' Party (PKK) at 9:15 p.m. on Dec. 23, 12 days after a curfew was imposed by the military.

The house in the Saray neighborhood of Dargeçit belongs to the cousin of the Justice and Development Party’s (AKP) district head, Beşir Kılınç.

Necim Kılınç, who was Beşir Kılınç’s cousin, his wife, daughter and son were all wounded in the attack launched by long-barreled weapons.

All victims were brought to Dargeçit State Hospital for a first response and were later transferred to Midyat State Hospital.

Necim Kılınç and his daughter Sabahat Kılınç succumbed to their wounds at the hospital. The treatments of Fatma Kılınç and her son Selamet Kılınç are ongoing, but reports indicate their condition remain critical.
