Türkiye delivers humanitarian aid to 85 countries

Türkiye has provided humanitarian assistance to 85 countries and communities across five continents through operations coordinated by the Disaster and Emergency Management Authority (AFAD), according to data compiled by state-run Anadolu Agency.

The assistance has included food, shelter and medical supplies, essential goods, financial and logistical support and search-and-rescue equipment. AFAD also coordinates overseas search-and-rescue operations.

One of Türkiye’s largest international relief operations was carried out for Gaza, with 109,332 tons of supplies sent aboard 14 aircraft and 21 ships following Israeli attacks. Financial assistance totaled $7.5 million, including $7 million from AFAD and $500,000 from the Turkish Red Crescent.

Afghanistan received 11,739 tons of aid through 25 “Kindness Train” journeys and six cargo flights. Six ships carried 10,206 tons of supplies and 30,000 tents to Sudan.

Türkiye also dispatched 13,938 aid trucks to Syria. Pakistan received 9,079 tons of supplies, Somalia 3,000 tons and Lebanon 730 tons.

Bangladesh received 64,992 aid packages, while Bosnia and Herzegovina was supplied with 60 container homes, fuel, hygiene products, generators and other essential materials.

Support also included $25,000 worth of supplies and 600 food packages for Zambia, $54,070 in assistance for the Democratic Republic of the Congo and $60,000 for Burundi.

Among the most recent operations was a shipment to Venezuela after two earthquakes measuring magnitudes 7.2 and 7.5 struck the country in June. Two military cargo aircraft carried 30 tons of aid, including 275 tents supplied by AFAD and seven tons of medical materials provided by the Health Ministry.

Following flooding in Spain, Türkiye also sent 250 waste containers, each with a capacity of 1,100 liters, and two road-cleaning vehicles.
