'Save me'

A Turkish woman has been saved from a kidnapper after leaving a note reading “Save me” to a gas station attendant.

Local media reported on Oct. 3 that a female hairdresser, identified only as D.Ç., was kidnapped in Ankara.

The kidnapper brought the woman to the western province of Aydın, where he stopped the car at a gas station.

While the man was looking away, the woman managed to give the attendant a paper napkin on which she wrote “Save me.”

After the car left, the gas station attendant called the police and notified them of a possible kidnapping attempt as well as the number plate.

The suspect, who was detained at a police checkpoint in Aydın’s Çine district, claimed that the woman was his girlfriend.

“Our families did not let us marry. I had only proposed her to marry without their permission,” he reportedly told the police.
