Turkish warplanes hit PKK targets in Turkey’s southeast

Turkish warplanes conducted airstrikes against outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) targets in the Beytüşşebap district of the southeastern province of Şırnak late on July 5. 

The jets hit PKK targets between 8:10 p.m. and 8:23 p.m. in the rural Beytüşşebap after evaluating received intelligence, according to the Turkish Armed Forces (TSK). Several shelters belonging to the PKK were destroyed in the airstrikes, the TSK statement added.  

A group of PKK members consisting of four or five militants was also hit and killed, security sources told Anadolu Agency.  

The warplanes returned to their bases after the operation.
