Marking a key milestone in its operational expansion, Turkish Airlines’ maintenance arm, Turkish Technic, has inaugurated its seventh hangar at Atatürk Airport to meet growing fleet service demands.

“With our seventh hangar at Atatürk Airport, covering 29,400 square meters, our total enclosed facility area in Istanbul will exceed 850,000 square meters,” the company said.

This hangar will enable Turkish Technic to provide maintenance services for 2 narrow-body and 1 wide-body aircraft simultaneously.

“With this addition, we will increase our maintenance capacity in Istanbul to 57 aircraft at the same time, further reinforcing our position as [the maintenance, repair and overhaul] MRO with the highest maintenance capacity in a single city worldwide,” the company said.

Providing maintenance, repair, engineering, modification and reconfiguration services to both domestic and international customers, Turkish Technic operates across five different locations.

In addition to its facilities at Istanbul Airport, Atatürk Airport and Sabiha Gökçen Airport in Istanbul, the company provides services through its maintenance hangars in Ankara and Aydın.

Alongside its engineering and maintenance activities, Turkish Technic also offers component maintenance, spare parts support, design, certification and manufacturing services to international airlines. The company employs a specialized workforce of 11,650 personnel.
