Turkish high school student Damla Orhan died from a heart attack today right before leaving home to sit the University Entrance Exam (YGS) in the Black Sea province of Samsun, daily Hürriyet reported.

Orhan, 18, fainted after she woke up in the morning to prepare for the YGS. Her parents immediately took her to the hospital, where it was revealed that she had suffered a heart attack. Orhan was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

"She had been anxious for the exam for over a year,” a relative said. “Her family tried not to make her feel like she was under any pressure. She was self-conscious. The stress was too much for her and she could not deal with it.”

The exact cause of her death will be determined after an autopsy.
