Turkish Red Crescent to open school in Somalia

ANKARA - Anatolia News Agency
The Turkish Red Crescent will open a nursing and healthcare professional school in famine-stricken Somalia.

Ahmet Lutfi Akar, director general of the aid organization, said they would establish a nursing and healthcare school in the Somali capital Mogadishu to train health personnel.
The Turkish Red Crescent did not only send aid materials to Somalia but also aimed to give training to Somali people, he said.

A great number of health personnel were needed in Somalia’s health sector, he said.

Akar said a protocol has been signed for construction of the school, which would open next year. The healthcare school can train 250 students, he said.
