Aksünger said the president had invited the CHP to discuss its objections to a report conducted by the State Audit Board (DDK) working under the presidency on the issue of the protection of personal data.

Republican People’s Party (CHP) deputy Erdal Aksünger, known for his expertise in information technology, met with President Abdullah Gül on Feb. 2.

President Gül did not comment on Prime Minister Recep Tayyip Erdoğan’s recent remarks that "even the president was wiretapped," but said the allegations should be investigated, according to Aksünger.

“During our conversation, the president did not comment on those remarks, but I felt that certain issues were conveyed through the state hierarchy. He said those allegations should be investigated,” Aksünger told reporters  Feb. 3 after his meeting with Gül.

Aksünger said the president had invited the CHP to discuss its objections to a report conducted by the State Audit Board (DDK) working under the presidency on the issue of the protection of personal data.

He also conveyed objections about the omnibus bill that includes the Internet law and asked the president to get involved on the issue, Aksünger said.
