Turkish President Gül receives Turkmen state medal

Turkish President Abdullah Gül on May 30 met his Turkmen counterpart Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov in Ashgabat after being welcomed to the country with a military parade. Gül, who was given the Turkmenistan state medal, hailed relations between the two countries. “Cooperation between Turkey and Turkmenistan, two brother countries, is embodied in all parts of life, and serves the mutual interest of our people,” Gül stressed.

Berdimuhamedov also hailed relations between the two countries, saying that President Gül was a “globally-known” politician who had contributed a lot to Turkey-Turkmenistan relations.
