Turkish police detain 40 suspects in Konya and Adana over ISIL links

ANKARA - Anadolu Agency
Turkish anti-terrorism officers on Aug. 26 detained 40 Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) suspects in the Central Anatolian province of Konya and the southern province of Adana, a police source has told the state-run Anadolu Agency.

According to the source, who spoke on condition of anonymity due to restrictions on talking to the media, police also seized several documents from the suspects. Half of the suspects are being held in Konya and the other half are being held in Adana.

The move comes after the Turkish army and U.S.-led coalition forces launched military operations early on Aug. 24 in northern Syria to push ISIL away from territory on the border.
