Turkish official inflation rises to 9.07%

Turkish inflation on a 12-month comparison rose to 9.07 percent in July, the national statistics institute TUIK said Friday.
 
Consumer price inflation in July pushed a 12-month inflation average to 9.11 percent, TUIK also said on its website.
 
On a monthly basis, however, consumer prices fell by 0.23, TUIK added.
 
A breakdown by categories showed that alcohol and tobacco prices shot up by 18.69 percent over a year, while the cost of goods and services gained 13.76 percent and house prices were 11.68 percent higher.
 
Turkey's central bank forecasts inflation to fall to 5.0 percent in 2012.
