A man in the Black Sea province of Samsun has killed his wife on suspicions that she was having an affair, daily Milliyet reported today.

Ahmet Candan, 47, who frequently complained about the propensity of his 44-year-old wife, Büşra Candan, to chat with other people, had become increasingly suspicious that she was cheating on him.

He discovered his wife chatting again late one night and allegedly began to stab her. When the first knife broke, Adnan Candan allegedly grabbed another knife, stabbing his wife in the midsection.

The couple's child witnessed the incident and ran away from the house in a panic. He later found a police officer and informed him about the killing.

Police and ambulance teams were immediately dispatched to the scene of the incident.

Büşra Candan, who was reportedly stabbed 12 times, could not be saved. Police, meanwhile, took the husband into custody.

Law enforcement officers have launched an investigation and have seized the victim's computer.
