Prime Minister Ahmet Davutoğlu has held a meeting to shape a labor security action plan, including a move to award employers if no accidents take place in the workplace.

The government will provide incentives to employers whose workplaces are accident-free and penalties for fatal accidents will be toughened, Davutoğlu said in a press conference on Sept. 12.

Employers should not abstain from workplace security expenses, he added, noting that the government would be increasing public spending accordingly.

The government has to examine coordination among the state institutions and ministries, as well as clarify responsibility and authority, he added.
