ASHGABAD - Anatolia News Agency
The Turkmenistan tourism facilities on the coast of the Caspian Sea, built by Turkish contactors, were opened yesterday at a ceremony by Turkmen President Gurbanguly Berdymuhamedov.

The $35 million Bereket Hotel, opened with a speech by Berdymuhamedov, was built by Turkey’s Çizgi İnşaat. The hotel’s accommodation capacity is 250 people and it has a particularly special design, Çizgi executive Bülent Özcan told the Anatolia news agency.

Berdymuhamedov later joined another ceremony for the opening of a 1,200 bed sanitarium in the same region. The renovation of Mollagara, one of the most famous sanitariums in the country, cost $80 million, and was conducted by Cotam, another Turkish company. The sanitarium offers mud and salt treatments.
The Caspian region of Avaza has undergone big changes since 2007. Turkmenistan has invested more than $2 billion there so far. Turkish contractors dominate business on the 16 kilometer coast, and Turkish President Abdullah Gül has visited the region several times.

Turkmenistan plans to add some 4,500 beds to the current accommodation capacity of 2,000.
