The 3rd Lebanon Turkish Film Festival started on April 4 in Beirut, with the curtain being raised at an opening attended by Turkish directors and actors.

The event was hosted by the Metropolis Association and the Izmir Cinema Association, in partnership with the Turkish Embassy in Lebanon. A total of seven recent Turkish films will be screened at the Metropolis Empire Sofil Theater until April 7.

The festival opened with “Lal Gece” (Night of Silence), which was the winner of the 2012 Crystal Bear of the Berlin Film Festival, in the presence of the director Reis Çelik. Speaking to Anatolia news agency, Çelik said he was proud that his movie was opening and closing the festival.
